About My Volunteer Life
My Volunteer Life is the brainchild of country music star Michael Peterson, the million-selling artist known for such chart-topping hits as "Drink, Swear, Steal and Lie" and "From Here to Eternity."
In keeping with his commitment to greater causes, Michael envisions this site as a way to bring people who want to volunteer together with organizations who need volunteer services. Making these connections is a vital way to build stronger, healthier communities in America.
The primary purpose of this site is to give you a tool to make volunteer work more than just a good idea; it should be something that you can fit into your "real" life. Each of us has some skill, talent or wisdom we can contribute to enrich the lives of others and make our community a better place.
With the support of the U.S. Army, Michael has launched this website in conjunction with his "My Real Life – Strong for America Tour." In the spring of 2008, the Tour is visiting 10 U.S. cities, spreading a message of hope and empowerment to people of all ages. To learn more about the Tour, visit MyRealLifeTour.com.
